South Dakota - the Mount Rushmore State

Mitchell Corn Palace
We Were Ear!, Mitchell, SD.
Eight years before the turn of the century, the World's Only Corn Palace was built on Mitchell's Main Street. During its hundred year existence, it has become known world wide and now attracts a half million visitors annually. Thousands of bushels of corn grain and grasses are used to redecorate the Corn Palace each year. Cherie Ramsdell designed the panels with the theme Life on the Farm.
